Pound Ridge Past: Remembrances of Our Townsfolk is a collection of reflections from the remarkable people who have contributed to the culture and heritage of Pound Ridge, a beautiful town in Westchester County, New York that is often referred to as "God's Country."

The lively, intimate glimpse of Pound Ridge spans the bucolic countryside of the 1920s to the high-times of the 1970s, when the social set from advertising and airlines pilots claimed parties every weekend. The book includes stories of celebrities like Frank Morgan (the wizard himself!), Tallulah Bankhead, Benny Goodman, Eartha Kitt, Zoe Caldwell, Howard Cosell, and many other literary glitterati and theatrical or silver screen performers who lived in this snug little town.

"Brodnick takes us on a tour of the brightest local stars who grew up here, farmed the land, preserved the natural beauty, and weaved the famous baskets. Today's Pound Ridgers will appreciate the personal recollections and the love stories of the "homestead" from Malcom Fancher, Leonard Scofield, Betsy Boone, Beverly Bender, Lisl Steiner-Monchek, and Dick Lyman, among thirty others. One story was especially intriguing, the reported ghost sightings inside The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges (formerly Emily Shaw's Inn). Former proprietor, Dorothy Treyball gives you a look "Inn-side" about a mysterious presence haunting the dining room," writes Paula Cappa, author of the many literary awards, including a recipient of the prestigious Chanticleer Book Award for her novel, Greylock. "If you are looking for a book with insightful historical perspectives of daily life and nostalgic moments of a time gone by, Ms.Brodnick's book is an elegantly written journey. The black-and-white photography by Fran Collin is well articulated and depicts just the right interpretation of the times. Reading Pound Ridge Past is a bit like taking a friend's hand and listening--voices who make the moments live again."

In October 2021, POUND RIDGE PAST was selected to be included in the Pound Ridge 100-year time capsule that will be excavated in September 2121.
